Skin-pricklingly good punk rock that's been on steady rotation since I picked it up. Uranium Club tick so many right boxes that it borders on creepy, touching base with the first couple of Wire or Pere Ubu albums minus the art; Cleveland weirdness (Darvocets, Folded Shirt) with a bit more art; latterday Aussie snot (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Helta Skelta) and the everyday observationalism of Sauna Youth if they dosed their jitteriness with something more unkind and yobbish. The results are deceptively simple and incredibly catchy, possessed of enough sharp smarts to keep you on your toes and ensure you play the damn thing til the needle carves its way through the vinyl. Beyond essential and absolutely bloody wonderful!
