A horrible hack

Big, warm, unabashed riff-rock from two fellas you might be familiar with: Ben Carr (5ive) and Larry Herweg (Pelican). It'd be a fat old lie to say that fans of those two bands would be shocked to hear what occurs here, as INTRCPTR acts as a de facto mid-way point between lolloping stoner brawn and ponderous, chin-stroking expanse – almost as if Karma To Burn had metalled up while suffering heat exhaustion during a Kyuss-esque vision quest. As an opening gambit it's all very good, though it does raise the question as to how things might develop further given the current reliance on volume and riffcraft. Still, if you just want to rock then you can't sniff too much, and it has to be said that seeing them smash through these five tracks live must be an immensely satisfying experience.
