This lot have been around for ten years and five albums, but this is the first I've heard of them. Initial impressions are odd but pretty darn good: a mix of indie, pop and staccato post-punk that somehow manages to juggle smarts and a sense of fun without coming off as trite or grating. The music clicks and clacks competently, but it's with the vocals that things really take flight – melodies weave and flutter, and the overall impression is some weird intersection between Tori Amos, Sleater Kinney and Shudder To Think. Depending on your fancies this may sound like a complete and utter horror show, but trust me it works – give the thing a go and see for yourself.
