Andy popped this one my way with a simple "might be one for you" and, lo, how right he was. Apparently Chiller is a continuation of Feral Trash, a band I don't know but now think I should. To me, this sounds like an update on that point in the middle 00s where you had The Observers smashing it up on their side of the pond while labels like Ny Våg and Kick N' Punch gave Europe's punk scene a sharp boot up the arse, all of which is then dosed with a mopey whiff of early Cure or Echo and the Bunnymen. Chiller have the sense of spiky, sparky mournfulness to back up these comparisons, along with the ability to pen a really great song – a pretty winning combo when all's said and done, and more than enough to make me want to upgrade my download to a real-life vinyl copy.
