This came in on the same promo email as Say Sue Me's covers EP and this time it's Wussy's turn to release a covers EP. I have to say, they do a great job on all 4 songs. The first one, and title track, is a Beatles song but it's the cover of "Runaway" by Jenny Mae that really stands out for me - it's a bit of a corker. Lisa Walker's vocals are ideally suited to this song and having not heard Jenny Mae before this I'm keen to find out more about her. Up next is a song called "Nomenclature" which was originally by an electro pop duo before the excellently chosen and venomous Afghan Whigs song, "Retarded", which came about as part of a covers album of Afghan Whigs songs a while back. The dual vocals work particularly well on this song. These songs were recorded at different times between 2007 and 2017 but are fully deserving of getting a vinyl release. Lovely cover art too.
