This is some weird stuff, and despite multiple spins I'm still a little in the dark as to what it all means. At heart it sounds like Iron Boris are playing metal riffs on punk rock gear. It's like Loincloth gone Boulder, or Cable if they mulched together their 'Variable Speed Drive', 'Gutter Queen' and 'Never Trust A Gemini' eras. It all shrieks and clanks in an extremely difficult manner, and things seem sloppy and louche while at the same time evilly purposeful. I'd say it's a hard record to love, but at the same time one that's worth spending a considerable amount of time on. Is this a compliment? I think so, yes. Probably?
