Pretty sweet release this, from a band who find themselves occupying a cheerfully addled headspace despite the very black metal name. Things are loose, bright and admirably contained, hinting at higher plains without seeming to care much whether you're capable of reaching them yourself. 'Uncertainty Is Bliss' shares the same easy, organic approach that links Earthless, Oranssi Pazuzu and The Groundhogs spiritually if not entirely sonically, the band mulching together a broad range of primal rock styles while their frontman's wobbly baritone unsteadily guides the way. The results are catchy, rocking and instantly-engaging, but also suggest enough strange substance to picking away, attempting to discover whatever glorious mysteries the band themselves have managed to unlock.
