Deep, dank, dense death metal that conveys a terrible and crushing sense of loss. Things lumber and lurk, favouring a weary plod in terms of pace, while the debilitating riffs are festooned with moribund synths and sour threads of minor-key melody. The band have the skill and confidence to really let things ooze rather than rush to their destination, and it's this, coupled with the all-encompassing air of despondency, that helps raise 'Where All Hope Fades' to death-doom's bilious upper tier. Fans of Asphyx, Inverloch and Unholy: be sure to take note.
