Last gasp I think for this Leeds band, who were playing some interesting stuff before they went kaput. On one level things're fairly familiar: the thuggish vocals and and loping, mid-paced basslines recalling those moments when an 80s hardcore act t gets all furrow-browed and takes its foot off the gas. That's where the trad hc vibes stop, however, with many of the other elements you might expect stripped away and replaced with gluey, spaced-out keyboards. It's as though the corpse of Negative FX has been emptied out and restuffed with the swirling synths of some old Messthetics-style band on a psych kick - a taxidermied freakshow caught between long hair and shaved scalp that's rendered all the weirder thanks to a confusingly muddy live recording.
