The collective CV of the members of this band shows an impressive list dating back as far as The Wedding Present, The Popguns and Aberdeen as well as more recent bands like The Fireworks and The Luxembourg Signal. "Self-Destruct Reality" on the EP of the same name from 2018 was an indie pop gem for me and while that track is on the more spritely end of their spectrum, this new record is a bright LP. Beth Arzy who is currently in The Luxembourg Signal is on vocals here and there are similarities between the two bands but things are less hazy with Jetstream Pony who sound bigger here than on their debut EP with more of a melodic post punk sound. Jangly guitar riffs that hark back to the 90s and a dreamier side that drifts gently towards shoegaze without ever going all in, while a fairly solid rhythm section drives the whole thing along nicely. "Mitte" might be the standout for me with the opening bassline, and the borderline nonchalance to the vocals and lyrics.
