So, what does cancelling a European tour and signing to the once-great Revelation records equal? A rather good record, by all accounts. While it doesn't differ a whole lot from their previous full-length, 'Dissertation, Honey', it still has enough sassy grooves and awesome basslines to keep the kids happy for the 24 minutes.

For kids not familiar with the sound of this band, think Nation of Ulysses, latter day Refused with maybe a bit of Get Hustle thrown in now and then. It's jazzy hardcore that is very sexy; lyrics about choking on honey and french-kissing in holding cells worm their way amongst spiky, dischordant guitars, stop-start drums and occasionally a bit of saxophone.

Tracks like 'Love in the Sex Prison' and 'Lipstick SS' are where the money is. On the latter in particular the inventiveness of the band is perfectly exhibited, it twists and turns and never settles on one idea, bouncing from one rhythm to another. And this is what the Plot are all about. It's not meant to be predictable or comfortable; it's sassy, arty rock and roll, and it sounds like a total riot, in every sense of the word.

Bonus points for the Prince Harry-approved artwork.
