So in the cycle of Revelation's back catalogue (few years of bad hipster music / metal, then throw in some random old school act to show you remember your history - just check their discog page for proof of this...) it's time for some more mosh, only this time they have decided to re-visit thier roots, so along with the upcoming Bold discography cd they have put together this, a complete discography for the influential but also much maligned Judge.

Now I was never a massive, massive fan of thier stuff, and always just seemed to go for specific tracks rather than listen to records all the way through, so this has been a bit of a re-introduction for me. Though if you don't know what Judge sound like by now...

One thing that does stand out now is that there's a little more depth in some of this stuff that perhaps a lot of people these days give them credit for. I mean like most of the old rev bands it can be a bit goofy, but (very) occassionally there is almost a clumsy Springsteen esque down-trodden male feel lyrically along side some silly songs about their crews and shit.

So they were responsible for even more shit bands than the Get Up Kids and one of them is apparently in Limp Bizkit (what?) but I can't hold it against the Judge of 1989, this still makes me shout and point at things, just check your hipster scene points at the door...
