Having half-inched their name from that old Count Five song you might be forgiven for expecting a fuzz-heavy dose of retrofied rock n roll from Psychotic Reaction. Instead we seem to have a bunch of fluffing around that, whilst occasionally engaging, doesnt go anywhere much. Im sure the band had a fun ol time digging around in their box of tricks, snuffling through reconstituted blues licks, three-chord stomps and rather standard indie rock, but as a sit-down experience the whole thing is left somewhat lacking in the cohesion department. Fair play for putting this together and doing what they want to do, but for my two penneth Id suggest putting their eclectic impulses on hold for now, weed out the clunkers and concentrate on making those good bits great.
