First impressions: minimalist sleeve; vaguely disturbing serial killer handwriting for the lyrics and a Taste Of Fear cover. Starts with a ponderous, Dystopian intro that's all looming chords and wrist-slitting misery before stomping into semi-life with a series of gut-wrenching screams and blustery, mid-paced chunters. That's side A. Nothing unduly spectacular, but it's ok. Side B is brisker business and rather more satisfying, the band fully unleashing their raw, rough-edged grind with feedback screeching through any empty spaces and the occasional slower thud adding variation to the carnage. The production's sketchy and prevents the sharp edges from leaving too many cuts and bruises but as it's demo material that's to be expected, and things're at least interesting enough to warrant a weather eye being kept on 'em if you like your grind dirty, pus-spattered and blown-out around the edges.
