London punx [FILLER] knows exactly what they want to do, and this is to beat you viciously about the head. The band bosh through seven songs in not many more minutes, nailing down a lumpy, protean breed of power violence that tips its cap to Spazz, SU19b and the kind of bands who might’ve turned up on those old Reality and Cry Now Cry Later comps. There’s a nice sense of physicality to the music and the dual vocals (gnarled ‘n’ raspy vs Chris Dodge caveman) are pitted effectively against each other, with the final two tracks in particular showcasing a knack for dynamic shift as the songs swing between go-slow pummel and flat-out blasts. Overall it’s a good, strong demo and I’m hoping to catch them live sooner rather than later. Nice work!
