Awesome, inspirational punk-fucking-rock from these three chaps, jumbling up the tense, clicketty-clack syncopation of Gang of 4, the slippery basslines and urgent brevity of the Minutemen with the Jam’s knack for a killer melody and arch, observational lyrics. Sure, those comparisons may be pretty lofty, but damned if Giant Haystacks don’t just pull it off, wrassling these influences back from the limp-dicked indie twerps who’ve hamfistedly watered them down and putting the punk kick right back in with killer tracks like Life Goes On, Young Shavers and Question Time leading the charge.
