Hitch appear to be one of the myriad polite and almost unhateable post-hardcore bands that’ve dotted Europe since Refused decided to call it quits. They jock Fugazi heavily and lay into thick, kinetic, bass-driven riffage, peppered with strained vocals and scattered beats but never really seem to do much of anything, bulking out the musical landscape like the three slices of cheap white bread next to a pauper’s greasy dinnerplate. True, it’s hard to really pick on them and reduce them to rubble since they’re quite listenable and largely inoffensive, but that, ultimately, is their one enormous problem “” they’re just too darn uninteresting to even warrant your contempt.
