The Futureheads have started doing Jimmy Eat World covers… this is weird … the dude has a
really Northeastern accent, ( but is apparently from Belfast), yet they play chugging harmony
vocal “emo”. I can’t decide whether this rescues it or not, at least he is isn’t whining.. .
but it is total formula MTVmo fodder. I bet there’s slow mo in the video, so no not saved
then… The bside is a track off Clarity (well nearly), more harmonies but this the slow
tinkle tinkle one, you know the drill, emote like it’s 1999… The remix of the title track
(which appears to be by hip hop crew Deceptacon’s who I have a good album by somewhere) is
kind of odd… I almost always think remixes of rock bands are pointless, and this pretty
much is. Squelch squelch, we got rid of most of the track, will these beats do etc. HO and
indeed HUM, I mean I don’t want to kill myself after listening to it, but that’s not saying
so much these days.
