93 Million Miles From The Sun... - ...And Counting - 7

I can give you so little background to this release. I am not even certain of the band name, you can’t really tell from the packaging. But what I can tell you is that they feature ex-members of Refused. Which ones? Dunno, but that in itself should be a fair reason to check this out as it means they might do something weird.

Well, it’s sort of weird, but not that weird. Like track one, “One Day…”. Sounds like fairly poppy, melodic, emotional punk, with perhaps a nod to Jets to Brazil at times on this one. They bring on a hammond organ as it goes. This is really rather excellent. And song number two, “Trademarks”, is some cool, melodic rock, with a piano.

Finally, “We Could All Be”, sounds like a different band in a way. Actually, none of the tracks sound that similar, but thats what being in Refused does to you. I guess this is more indie rock, with both quiet and contemplative emo breakdowns, and some crunchier parts. Cool really, sounds original too.

I hope this isn’t all this band ever do, they could prove to be one of the more exciting bands to appear in 1999. And what with the Refused connections I’d say this is the must investigate single for the month. Check it oot.
