A welcome return for a band which is definitely under appreciated within the UK scene. Three songs (two new), unfortunately arriving in the form of one of my pet hates. I know it shouldn’t annoy me THAT much but CD singles bug me, plain and simple. This would have looked so much nicer as a 7″.
The first track is the best reason to pick this up. ‘Too Much Music…’ is Annalise doing what they do best. Upbeat, melodic punk rock with (shock) intelligent lyrics that really do provide a disconcertingly accurate synopsis of the present day scene. One of the best songs I’ve heard from this band, easily comparable with some of the finer moments from the last album. Unfortunately the other two songs aren’t quite as good, ‘Forget the Girl’ from the recent ‘Tour Issue’ CD isn’t bad, although the other newbie ‘Our Own Hideaway’ is more filler material than great song.
