I’m at two ends of the spectrum with my musical tastes at the moment – firstly I’m so liking the poppiest of the pop music, ala Get Up Kids and Gameface. Meanwhile at the other end, I really like the hardcore stuff. This album will provide you with some finest of the latter. This is straight forward, punishing hardcore. Rah!!
Lots of sounds coming through. Let me mention some names – Lifetime / Gorilla Biscuits / Boy Sets Fire. And if that lot isn’t enough to rock your socks, then I don’t know what is. This album consists of the usual stuff that make up good hardcore albums. Namely; lots of shouty vocals, lots of very loud drum beats and all those chugger chugger thrashing guitars.
This is fast and energetic old school hardcore with roots in the glory days of ’88 (when I was just 9 years old – scary eh?). But Battery manage to bring the sound bang up to date with crunching pace. So whether you’re a tired old scenester who misses those long gone days of the ‘Biscuits or if your a young newbie like me, I’m sure you can find something in this album that you’ll appreciate.
Now …. rock it!!
