I wonder why all of the Awkward Silence records have such shit packaging, most of the stuff he puts out is wicked but he always has the same shit packaging. After seeing records as amazingly packaged as the last Opiate 12″ or the Remote Viewer LP this just looks rubbish. Luckily the music isn’t!
The Bauri track “teddymx” is great as all of his tracks are! Very similar to everything else he does, its quite upbeat, its got a good beat and has a lot of computer noises in the background. If the beats were a bit harder I’d call this techno.
Novel 23 surprised me a bit, I like their track a lot although I was sure I had heard a well crap track by them before. I must have been imagining things because this tracks wicked! Its even better than Bauri. Their sound is pretty similar to some of the stuff on the U-ziq cd “lunatic fringes”. Theres this wicked sound all the way through that sounds like a vocal effect that’s been fucked up, sounds well electro and makes me almost want to robot dance. Sounds like an effect the Faint would use a bit actually! Worth tracking down I think!
