Duh, it’s Braid.
Rating:
Oh, go on then.
The two penultimate songs from Braid, the last ever will turn up on the much craved for Movie Music 2*CD comp coming out next year. These songs suck. Ha ha! Of course they don’t, are you fucking mad? “Please Drive Faster” is just pure Braid bounce fueled by Bob’s vox and their thrusting and intricate guitars with quick stops and starts. Changing the pace to make you shake your body all funny. It’s scruffy pop music for those who like good sounding noise and stuff. Yeah, it’d have fit on the last album, but it would have fit better on a NEW ALBUM GODDAMIT. WHY? WHY?! Ahem, sorry.
“Circus of the Stars” is a bit different because Chris sings instead, and it works real well, he’s got a great style as exhibited in the Firebird Suite. So therefore it sounds like a more upbeat Firebird Suite. More dueling guitars twist in and out of each other, leading you on a merry dance and eventually tangling you in a web of brilliance and fantastic pop music. Really uplifting, despite the lyrics.
I’m glad I saw them live, I’m glad I own the records.
Duh, it’s Braid.
