Thrashin’ Japanese HC from these guys, and rather fine it is too. Fast and thrillin’, it’s not at all straightforward, yet never compromises with regards to blowing your head off. Lots of crazy riffin’, stops n’ starts and full on yelled vocals. Blasts off with “Jason Adams” which sears yer ears. “True Do Me?” and “Day Dreamer” have great screechy breaks and piercing screams and make me punch the air. Then they do an a stripped down, melodic instrumental, huh? And side B gets in with piano and some very worrying noises, followed by what sounds like a jazz recorded played too fast. Then two more short thrash songs! Including “Child’s Heart” which has some of that crazy jazz infiltrating its structure. More in line with spazzy San Diego-ness on this one, than the thrash of the rest of the 7″. Things are rounded off with another acoustic instrumental. Weird kids.
They sing about skatin’, and more. Throw in the opening sample of “Rule Brittania” which may or may not be from the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah band LP “Gorilla,” and you can’t really go wrong here. Thrash hard!
