Labels: two friends
Review by: Ian Cavell
Well I have to say I feel a little cheated by this 7″. Only one new song and two from the recent full length on Revelation. But on pure musical merit there is nothing at fault with this record. The new (or should I say previously unheard) track ‘tunnel vision’ is up there with the rest of ‘The Last of the Daydreams’, ie pulsating and emotional rock music of a very high quality. If anything it has a slightly harder edge but even so, it would not have sounded out of place on the album. Great stuff.
The other two songs, ‘Surface’ and ‘Castle’, were two of the high points on ‘The Last of the Daydreams’. Think gritty and emotional rock music with some fantastic, and thoroughly distinctive, vocals. I haven’t played the album for a few weeks – these two songs remind me of what I’m missing.
Lovely 7″ on a nice label but only one new song is a bit of a let down.
