Canadian quartet play emotion fueled post-hardcore music. Great songwriting and some great melodies should provide you with inspiration in your hour of need. This album is full of contrasts. Think light, think dark. Think loud, think quiet. Think complicated, think simple. And you never quite know whats going to happen next. They have this energy perpetually brewing under the surface. You know how Hot Water Music do that? Course you do.
Songs. Well, stand outs for me would be “Fade” – a powerful kicking blend of post-hardcore perfection. While “Crushed Beneath” sees By a Thread at their most emotional as they slow things down tremendously. This bands lyrics are one of their mighty strengths. And its demonstrated here to its best effect. Its songs like this that set the band aside from the rest of the pack.
But its “The World To Me” that wins the prize of being my favourite song on the album. Its loud, its infectiously melodic rock music, its emotional and it has that special “something” that makes a song great. Reminds me a lot of Samiam. Just that incredible sound that seems so perfect it sends a tingle down my spine.

Don’t think you could really go far wrong if you bought this album.
