Cain Marko - demo - Tape (2000)

Labels: self released

If you’re bothered enough to peruse the Collective-Zine ‘sensible’ guestbook, you’ll see an ad placed by the band. And as a sucker for free music just like the next kid, this turned up in the mail. Though unexpectedly, after quite some time, for they (Cain Marko) were facing several problems and so on and so forth. So anyways, these kids fall under the overly saturated genre of today otherwise known as screamo. ‘Archaic(theknifeinyourbackhasmadeyouweak)’ goes all Saetia like. And while that’s not so groundbreaking, there’s some great lyrics to it. “…All for the touch of caress and the kiss of her sex, so set it fury…” RAAA. Significant other ‘Stabtheireyes’ prologues with a twinkly riff so reminiscent of….oh gosh it’s at the tip of my tongue…Maybe Portraits of Past. Maybe Saetia. Then comes the expected vocals of frustration and despair, the melodic rythms and cries. I recall early Grade.

With just 2 tracks, this should easily be on a 7″ vinyl with hand made covers, a million inserts and limited to 47 copies but…oh well.
