This band is very weird. They have vocals that seriously don’t fit the music. For the music is bouncy and upbeat emo pop stuff, like early Get Up Kids mixed with Texas Is The Reason mixed with Promise Ring (the bassy intro to “Jungle Bugs” is very P-Ring circa “Nothing Feels Good’), and they have a regular singer at times, but also – they have this dude who is just screeching. And, I’m afraid, I really can’t take it. If you’ve heard Spirit of Versailles, it’s on a par with that. It completely grates on my ears and seriously doesn’t do the music any good at all (and the music sounds very nice the rest of the time). But this kind of style doesn’t even work with screamy vocals, let alone ones as harsh as this!
Sorry Carlisle, nice try, but not for me.
