You will all hate this record, European indie emo harking back to when you all bought Mineral sound-a-like bands like Ambrose and Reno Kid CDs and your ’emo’ collection was all about raindrops and saying goodbye, but man, I love this. It makes me feel ‘young’ again.
To be fair this record probably has more of a Hot Water Music feel to it what with the slightly rougher than normal dual vocals and nicely thought out guitar lines. It also has a bit of energy and you can even imagine smiling to it. Crikey! It’s something that a few years ago I wouldn’t have to stumble across by accident and makes me want to break out my old Fireside cd’s, later that is, because I’m enjoying this (for now).
It’s all still very polite and unthreatening, but so what? Give it a chance, I dare you.
