This is a way DIY release, 5 songs pressed onto a mini 3″ cdr and then set up with a laser printed cover. Nice! Cracked Pavement Curse is one chap (named Jon) doing some pleasant acoustic melodies and gently singing over the top. His voice doesn’t sound too confident and wobbles a bit, but that gives the music a bit of charm. The tracks sound like they are stripped down versions of indie rock songs, and occasionally Jon throws in a few extra bits and pieces, sometimes getting noisier such as sticking some electronics on “Greedy Guts” and even utilising a saxophone on the same song. I think this is my favourite track, it sounds fuller and more developed than the rest of the songs, making me think of a long since forgotten 7″ by a band called the Evergreen Trio.

This is a nice little homemade release (it says here that it was recorded on 8-track reel-to-reel), and whilst hardly essential I think it is very cool when people can put out their own records in this fashion.
