Here David Grubbs lays down some of his sweet piano tracks like some of his output on the Gastr Del Sol records and it’s no surprise that theyre lovely, rich and it’s an extremely pleasant listen. He plays in a jazz style and yet it isn’t freeform or seedy. Late night listening for pissed up twats after a long tube ride home.
Avey Tare has to have some connection to Animal Collective, I haven’t checked but I’m pretty sure that there is. If there isn’t then I am stupid. It’s like if the Flaming Lips made an underground record again and forgot about all the money and did whatever the fuck they wanted. I don’t think Im ready to hear this quite just yet as I haven’t just dropped acid and the werewolf lyrics, as nice as they are, sound a little ridiculous whilst not high.
