Labels: XL

I’m presuming that neither of the last two records are going to be released on vinyl, either that or XL is 7″ crazy. “At The Hop” is a simply gorgeous ballad, with gentle old school American fingerpickin’ and a hairy Devendra crooning over the top of it. As per usual the guitar playing is straight out of the John Fahey school, but with Devendra’s restrained vocal over the top it sounds suspiciously mainstream. Like I said with his last 7″ single though, this is a great song, but, he is really overflowing the lo-fi market with all these singles.
