Hmmmmm! This sounded promising to begin with. Nice housy crisp beats over a soothing synthesizer. But then some cunt starts singing, and it all goes down hill. It is just way too poppy for my tastes, man. I’m pretty sure it’s the guy from Death Cab For Cutie as well. I think he’s got a good voice but it doesn’t go well with dance music. I don’t like it when electronic stuff has vocals anyway (unless its in a distorted way like Autechre or Boards Of Canada).
If you were to separate the vocals and the music both sound really nice though. The two tracks on this 12″ which don’t have any vocals are really nice, it just makes me cringe listening to the other three! I can imagine lots of internet daters sending the mp3 of this to each other. Bleaauurfggghhghgh!!!
