Dominic - Running With Scissors - 10

This got sent to us ages ago, so I apologise for the slackness. Anyway, with that out of the way, I can tell you that Dominic are Norwegian and make a decent stab at playing melodic and energised screamo type stuff. It’s all jam packed with crashing riffage, scream-singing and thumping grooves to satisfy the needs of anyone who likes a loud noise made with a sound sense of melody. Being lazy I can draw comparison to countrymen JR Ewing, because they share a similar ability to spoonfeed a large dollop catchiness into the whole shebang and I am sure that they make the crowd spazz in their uber tight pants at gigs. The production is good, as is the recording sound – the 5 songs spin at 45rpm and the band sounds tight and rocking.

It’s all very solid, a good interpretation of this kind of thing, but it’s nothing new or dramatic and not the sort of music I really listen to much any more. Even so I expect that people who do like this style would appreciate Dominic.
