Labels: Gravity
Review by: Chris Bress
The brown past of Gravity rears its ugly head again. Much like the Sea of Tombs LP they put out a while back this is laid back stoner jams with only the slightest bit of end in sight.
The first side, “Flower travellin’ man”, sounds only the tiniest bit like the marvelous Flower Travellin’ Band. It actually harks back to the days of the Deads, and like Grateful Dead I’m pretty sure this lot stay up all night busting out 70’s rifferama transcending themselves to better places.
The second side features some great guitar busting, with the major riff echoing a stoned Harriet the Spy. This is a pretty good record, but it just isn’t that great, and the plodding style of music like this is that ultimately it tends to sound better when your there, letting the beats rock you back and forth.
