Eiger - Demo - CDR (2004)

Labels: self released
Review by: Damien Mills

I got a copy of this some time ago after I got aquainted with thier singer via a message board, having got in touch through a shared love of Drownignman, Joeyfat and In My Eyes (an unlikley combination of groups, I think you’ll agree) and it stands somewhere in the middle. If you can imagine Joeyfat covering Drowningman then that’s close, metallic obnoxiousness but with a strange quirky englishness poking it’s head through, and better than that probably sounds.

I think one of the best things about it is it’s uniqueness, I can’t think of another band that comes close to let alone making something like that work without being intensly annoying, but somehow they pull it off, I the guess boundless self assurance helps some what…

After a short hiatus, this band is now on in at the deep end records, which is well deserved in my opinion though I’m not sure who exactly they might appeal too, but given the chance I’m sure cult status awaits them.
