Oh no! It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this record doesn’t deliver with there being only one original member left but I thought it would still be a cracker. Such a shame as ‘Let Us Prey’ was such a fantastically written and played record taking cues from psychedelic, doom and folk bands alike.
What ‘We Live’ misses is the sense of experimentalism that Electric Wizard had started to explore. Whilst the lack of progression may please some fans, it just feels like they have all written a record exactly like this one, the lack of life wrapped up in two LPs – both colour, and with an extra track – makes the title seem a bit of a joke as they sound dead and bored.
