This utterly deadly musical car-crash of a demo may be over in the skip of a heartbeat, but the sheer amount of musical invention and fearsome aggression pent up in these mere 190 seconds still astounds. After a disturbing intro track, EDT come blasting out the traps with their unbelievably technical grind attack, strongly reminiscent of Narcosis, not just because they are also from the UK and have song-titles that are so long that the music’s over by the time you’ve read them, but also because they fucking rock. If anything, they’re a little more inhuman in their approach, as there are fewer reprieves from the sonic assault, opting for Meshuggah-like hefty breakdowns rather than swinging Sabbath moments. There is definitely a method to this madness though, drawing you back, almost making you want to learn where the sudden twists and turns occur, until it’s inside your head, fucking shit up. Even by today’s jaded standards, this is extreme stuff, helped enormously by the insanely tight musicianship. This demo shows incredible promise.
