Eyehategod - Preaching The End-Time Message - CD (2005)

Labels: Emetic
Review by: Alex Deller

Another odds n’ sods demo-live-and-others outing here from Eyehategod, mulching together their disparate obscurities in much the same way Southern Discomfort did a few years previous. Buying this kind of thing often makes you feel like the devout follower of some money-grubbing stadium rock act, but in the case of EHG it’s forgiven just as soon as the first slurred note sounds and the feedback begins to flow. Herein you’ll find their splits with Anal Cunt, Soilent Green and Cripple Bastards, a couple of comp songs, some well-recorded live cuts from a Japanese radio show and three demo tracks slated to appear on their next album. Needless to say it’s all reassuringly foul “” a scab-ridden, carcinogen-belching laying down of the law that crawls belly-first in the filth everyone else is trying desperately to ignore.
