Financial Panther - s/t - CD (2004)

Labels: self released
Review by: Damien Mills

I’ve heard the words ‘Financial Panther’ a few times over the last few weeks, i still don’t really know what one is though.

I also know basically nothing about this band being as they are another Gator endorsed Simon Cowell-esque pluck from emo obscurity. Thier record however is really good stuff.

Chaotic-but-still-tuneful emo punk-y stuff in the No Idea records tradition, kind of a more energetic and ramshackle early HWM maybe, but with ace tense twinkly parts too, and the sort of stuff that sounds like it’d be loads of fun to play live. At the minute track 4, ‘Low Tide In Knife City’ is my favourate, starting slow and quiet and building amazingly towards the end, so much so that I can actually imagine spazzing to it, if only in my room when no one is looking, and i NEVER ‘spazz’ otherwise, that is how awesome this is……
