Ok, one more review and then I am done. For tomorrow evening I am driving to Peterborough and not long after that down to Stanstead airport and an early morning flight to France. Take me away from all this! No internet, no work, no phones, no anything. Just books, sunshine, beer and escapism. Smart.

But enough about me, this is a review of the 7″ by the band Fiya, who you may remember from a 7″ single on Obscurist Press. This is just as good as that one, mining a rich vein of passionate hardcore previously attacked with a pick-axe by the likes of Books Lie, Former Members of Alfonsin, True North and Light the Fuse and Run. Musically this is all about high energy pace, urgently shouted vocals, easy to follow melodies and stuff you can rock out and dance to. Just read the fucking lyrics whilst you are doing so! Simple as that! Un-complicated music performing the complicated process of scoring a direct hit on my psyche.

I think I am fast running out of words this evening (it is 00:12 after all), so I will just leave it there. Read all the other reviews I wrote today if you need more information, are bored, or are interested in studying the rambling witterings of an incompetent baboon. Then put on your favourite, most inspirational records, have a blast, and think about the music and what it all means to you. I’m out of here, see you in a week.
