A crunchy slab of DIY hardcore from this Florida band, released by Travis who was dat chap in Moonraker etc… Fiya blast through 5 tracks and vocally it reminds me of Spirit Assembly, but with more of a hardcore slant than an emo one. So I guess it sounds like New Granada eh? It’s energetic, rough and raw, the vocals are yelped out with an air of desperation whilst the guitar assault rumbles in the background. I guess that it is nothing out of the ordinary musically, but it is refreshing to hear this kind of style as you don’t come across it very often. It oozes with spirit and passion and that will always attract me to a hardcore band and make me realise why I love this kind of music. Make sure you read the booklet that comes with it. I reckon that if you like the South, you will probably like this too. I think it’s great.
