This is hardcore, inna prime early 90’s DC-style. Think Swiz basically – it’s 3/4 of that band, with Chris Thomson from Circus Lupus / Monorchid sneering away on top. I always preferred this kind of stuff to the more straightforward NYHC old-school style. It may not always be as loud, or as fast, but it always seems to be more wired, spilling over with manic energy. Especially on this EP. Believe me, this band were/are perfectly named. As a reaction to the trend in hardcore slowing down and getting all fake-emotional, Fury just let rip, slowing down a couple of times, but basically just making one hell of a racket.

And the circumstances surrounding this record make it all the more amazing. With 15 minutes of spare tape following recording of the Swiz 12″, Fury picked up their tools and bashed through their 6-song live set, and then Jason Farrell did a once-over with his trademark razor-wire guitars. A classic, done and dusted in half an hour. Nice one by Jade Tree for re-releasing the lost THD Records 7″.

A harder Swiz with the Monorchid-kid on vocals? You can’t afford NOT to buy it!
