When I first put this on I hated it. I thought it was just boring shit that Luke Younger would like, you know that post-Jesus Lizard rock.
However! After about three listens it really grew on me and now I like it a lot. It has some really good chaotic hardcore workout bits (a good soundtrack to the bit in the Omen where all of the animals in the zoo sense Damien and go apeshit, which is very convenient as that’s what I’m watching right now) which are noisy and erratic. They have a real Birthday Party feel to them, then go all spazzy (imagine the Melvins on acid AND speed!). There’s a chunky hardcore feel to them as well which sets em apart from a lot of the other bands on fat cat records.
Overall a really good and suprising 7″, I’m going to have to see them live as I’ve heard good stories! Check em out if you like hard rock with strange time changes!
