Ok first things first, this is some small Italian band. At first listen I went away not remembering a note of what i just heard. I am giving it its second full chance right now, side B just started. From what I have picked up this band are playing exactly as I would expect from a band around in 96/97, it’s on the tail end of gravity style 90s emo and hints of the 90s screamo phase are all over it. Stylistically I would call this band maybe somewhere between Saetia who were existing around the same time and darker more thrashy bands like 3 Studies for a Crucifixion. Where as every now and again with this record I find myself smiling it never seems to work for me structure wise, I mean if you dig the pre-screamo stuff then buy this record (or trade it off me for something a bit more upbeat!), but otherwise it’s far from a gem of it’s time, go buy the Saetia LP or the Coleman/3 Studies split instead.
