Glass And Ashes - Aesthetic Arrest - CD (2005)

Labels: No Idea Records
Review by: Gareth L

Seems I put this in with my CDs a while back and just remembered to review it. Sorry guys. This is on No Idea Records so you know it’s going to be at least a bit good. And it’s more than a bit good actually. Gruff, energetic melodic punk played in a rocking stylee. Although it’s not a style of music I have much knowledge about or interest in usually, this CD hits the spot despite the singer occasionally reminding me a little bit of that dude from Sick Of It All. There’s a nice balance of fist-in-the air singalong parts and intricate guitar breakdowns which keep the album interesting until the end, especially the tracks ‘Black Beneath the Eyes’ and ‘Controlled Burn’. Yeah, good stuff. Another one to add to what seems to be a neverending ‘good No Idea albums’ list.
