Labels: The Ideal Weight

This is a reissue of one of their older records and it’s ok but it’s nowhere near as good as their most recent release (which I know had very mixed opinions in my circle of friends). I really like the lo-fi scratchiness of the recording and it shows that they have been plugging their brand of post punk for a longer time than bands like the Liars and the Rapture but the album as a whole isn’t that great and it left me wondering why GSL decided to put it out as it isn’t very good and there are a lot of bands out there that deserve having their new records putting out rather than a re-issue of an average release. It also has a really bad cover of an amazing A Certain Ratio song.
