Labels: Crackle Records

Now this is more like it from Grover. They put out a cool 4 track 7″ a couple of years ago, but that kinda sounded like Avail at times, but they’ve not done much since. Then you get this record and put on the first song here, “Headstrung”, and it sounds like they’ve been spending the time adding Snuffy Smile label bands to their record collection. This is pure Blew with snotty UK vocals. That is, it’s enjoyable, rocking hardcore punk with decent melody and riffing, as is the hard driving “Forgive Me (note for tha boss)”. They do dabble in much more basic, raw melodic punk rock at times on the less cool other songs, namely “So They Say”, “Breakin’ Up” and “Go To Ground” but the latter features that exact same guitar sound that all the Snuffy Smile bands do when they are doing short solo’s. I don’t understand guitars so can’t give you a proper explanation. Sorry.
Good solid record that won’t change the world, but won’t piss you off that you spent some money on it either.
