High On Crime - Until No Flags Fly - LP (2006)

Labels: Hungry Ghosts
Review by: Alex Deller

Jesus, here’s a punishing dose of end-of-the-world hardcore and make no mistake. I mean, the debut 7″ was some pretty harsh stuff, but this fucker just keeps on clubbing away until the back of your head is nothing but matted hair and wrecked brains. Unstoppable riffs bulldoze bodies into pits as monstrous basslines are sunk into the dirt like barbed wire sealing the atrocity off from the outside world, all while ghastly roars of discontent rumble up from fissures in the scorched earth. From mid-paced grindings of the gears to flat-out bastard fury High on Crime offer up devastation in its darkest form, and with Until No Flags Fly they’ve carved a towering nightmare of a record that positively spews hatred, spite and the glowering promise of murderous retribution.
