Hot Snakes - Suicide Invoice - CD (2002)

Labels: Swami
Review by: Kunal Nandi

Well this record took a long while to grow on me, but boy has it done now! “Suicide Invoice” is a lot more melodic than their previous record “Automatic Midnight”, but loses none of the ass-kicking vitriolic power which their debut contained. The guitars sound less jagged and distorted on this too, and ring out cleanly in all their jangly glory! Plus only three of the 12 songs are longer than three minutes! Punk rock! The longest “Paid in Cigarettes” being my favourite of the record, as it features a great melodic chorus (in my own humble opinion). Check this out, and go see them when they come over in January.
